FRIDAY FLOWERS: ACCIDENTAL CUTTINGS

I put this “bouquet” together long before Christmas as a casual, last minute, and way-to-use-left- over-plant-material kind of arrangement. It gave a spot of color to the window ledge in front of the kitchen sink.
I cut some excess poinsettia branches from a huge plant, then added some Dusty Miller cuttings from an outdoor planter, some holly cuttings with nice red berries, and finally two cuttings from the Acuba japonica recently planted.

Can you see those roots? I suddenly realized I had something major growing there!
At first I thought it was the poinsettias, but no, it’s the Acuba.
Lots of gorgeous, healthy roots!!

I’ll let you know how they do in a few months. Hopefully, they will be strong and healthy in time for spring planting!
