FRIDAY FLOWERS: PETUNIAS

Petunias are one of my very favorite annual flowers.

Between the delicious, peppery scent and the bright, clean, lively colors they have a place in my garden and my containers each and every spring.

And this spring has been exceptional. They are flourishing beyond all my expectations!

I dead head with a passion: probably three times a day. It’s easy: every time I walk by a planter I just pick off a few!
I haven’t fed any of these yet, but will probably do so in another week or two.

And, I do prune them. I hate to cut them back, but within a week they have come right back and are better than ever. I prune selectively so they never look too sparse.

Enjoy your weekend. I will be….guess where?….in the garden!
