The holidays are fast approaching. How are you doing?

Each year that BIG DAY seems to arrive faster and faster. These days with all the on-line shopping we do… thanks to both Covid and the convenience of the world’s largest department store, Amazon, all we have to do is click that Paypal button and whoooosh….it ‘s done!

But I will tell you that my very favorite place to shop is Etsy. First, I really do try to shop local and/or small. Secondly, because I am an Etsy vendor I know how important each and every sale is.  And last, I think both the variety of goods and the customer service is unequalled .

For instance. There are two little girls I need to buy for. I won’t be seeing them at Christmas but they are the sweetest, cutest girls. Anyway, the older one was easy and done quickly at a makers market here in Chapel Hill. The younger one: hmmmm? Her mother said “Oh, some kind of bag or satchel or purse. She loves to carry cherished items around the house.”  Okay.  So off to Etsy to shop.

I’m here!

To all my followers who receive email updates from me: I’m sorry about the email sent to you today, Saturday! It seems that one goes out, automatically, to confirm that all is in working order.

Well, sort of working order. Do you see all those links below? I have no idea why there are so many, nor how to delete them! I did, however, install two plugins (don’t you love that word?) all on my own: StatCounter and Akismet, the anti-spam plugin. So I feel quite accomplished for the moment!

This is going to require some relearning and rethinking and a lot of time. And, as everyone is very busy with their own lives at this time of year, it makes good sense for me to slow down on posting and concentrate on the back end of the blog. Of course,  I will do this in all the free time I have!

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend… We have rain, but I know many of you have snow.

This is our front door this evening: the “tree” was my Mother’s and dates back to the 60’s.  I know she loved it and would hang it in our front hallway each year.

Traditions continue…

I was looking around Etsy the other day… browsing their Christmas wrappings, cards, ribbons, tapes, and boxes. So much to look at. Lots of new ideas. So many creative ways to wrap and display Christmas gifts. But one theme seemed overwhelming: the “natural” look: lots of kraft paper and kraft paper looks; not necessarily on a kraft/neutral background, but all with that down-to-earth, eco look (but with a sophisticated twist). Take a look at some of what I found:
