Packing for London and beyond: a few more days to go and the pile is growing in my bedroom and closet.
Of course, I went to the mall to browse and came away with a few gems!
Do you shop at JJill? There was a time when this retailer was so stodgy and conservative and just plain dowdy. Not now. They may not be the most trendy, and certainly they are not the young and hip source, but every season I find things I really like. And they tend to be things I wear over and over again.
How about this white linen shirt? The sleeves and entire back are a knit, with embroidered linen on the front. I love love it. Mine is an XS and it’s perfect. I am usually a 6 or maybe 8. Unfortunately it is only available in navy; no white on order except in Tall. But you know, I just may return for the navy.

Then we have these crop pants. I bought XS again. So comfy and even have pockets. Casual and yet easy to dress up. And very easy to pack.

So, this dress is not for our trip, but I thought you might be interested. The basic black but with that faux-wrap at the waist. It fits SO perfectly. It is seasonless. I tried it with a hot pink pashmina in my closet and it’s stunning: perfect for a big party we are going to end of June.

What else am I taking, you may ask. Comfy shoes. Those Geox shoes I bought last summer are a must.
I’m also taking the Uniqlo jacket from last fall. It rolls into its own bag about 8″ long, fits in the bottom of my back pack, and is good for evenings.
I have my ticket for the
Orla Kiely: A Life in Pattern
show at the Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey.
And I will most definitely be carrying my very own Orla bag:
(shown here with those Soludos shoes which I love)
But I will be at the show this Wednesday and I am certain I will be buying some goodies in the shop too! Don’t worry: you will see them.
Then we are off to the southern coast of England to the Isle of Wight.
Lots more to come…….
I’m a little shy about linen from JJill. I have one shirt, and although I wear it, it’s pretty heavy and stiff. I wish it were soft and meld into those wrinkles that look relaxed but not messy. I bought it several years ago, so I’m on the hunt for some linen that will look good without that endless ironing – this shirt could be it,
Have a great time in England – I’ll be with you inspirit. Can’t wait for the updates.
TRY BRYN WALKER A CALIFORNIA BASED STORE…………..
I know they sell to DILLARDS in the SOUTH.
FOR LINEN EVERYTHING!!!!!!
HAVE A FABULOUS TRIP!!!!!!!!!!
