So, it’s now the first of September.
How did that happen?
Where did summer go?
The garden has changed a lot in the last few weeks. The intense heat has been hard for my poor plants even though I do have a timed watering system and check various, more heat sensitive, plants at least once a day. The Dahlias just don’t do well here: ok, but not great. And forget Delphiniums…they would never make it.
On the other hand, Zinnias are happy campers!
And the Cannas. They are flourishing.
The Ginger Lily is blooming and the scent is wonderful!

Only wish I had more of these!
Have a wonderful Holiday weekend.
Lucky to have your Ginger Lily blooming. Mine has not had enough water and like most years, may not bloom at all.

Gorgeous as always. We planted cannas and oh my did t hey flourish. They grew to over 7′ and spread on the ground like wildfire. They grew like weeds until we eventually took them out. I still miss their colorful heads along the fence.
