It’s that time of year again!

This might be Moonstone, but I’m not sure. The established plant came with the house.

And this one is, I think, Sarah Bernhardt. Any one know for sure? It might be a little too deep in color. In any case, it’s gorgeous and always flowers about a week later.

I played with light levels here to get this washed out look; nice with the white flowers…
The leaves in these two images are Solomon’s Seal/ polygonatum. I had actually never heard of it until we moved here and a friend gave me a few cuttings. Not much happened for two years, but now…they have exploded. Mine are in partial shade and loving it.
And some more of the variegated Solomon’s Seal in a mixed bouquet:
More peonies in the afternoon shadows:
That’s it for this week; I’m off to New York for a few days to work a trade show, see friends, hang out with daughter, eat some good food and yes, maybe shop.
Peonies are one of my favorite flowers! I should put them on the list of things to plant in our backyard, once we get around to landscaping. Have a great time in NY. I’m sure you will. Such an amazing city. Be sure to take photos and share some highlights with us, Libby!

I love peonies they are one of my favourite flower.
I’m thinking that pink one is Sarah Bernhadt. I have it and it looks the same. Mine are not quite ready to bloom, but are budding nicely.
Have a great trip!!

I miss all of my peonies in Ohio, they are my favorite flower. Love the white one, what is it?Yes, those look like Sarah Bernhardt and Moonstone although my Sarah Bernhardts in my Ohio garden were a bit lighter. Have a great time in NYC, perfect time of year to visit before the summer crowds.
Attractive peonies in the garden setting and in your arrangements Libby. Have a nice time.

These peonies, like all the others, are beautiful! I love painting roses, but plan on giving these a shot soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Debbie: I just went over to your blog and site.Wow! You do gorgeous work and are so prolific: congratulations! And your story is wonderful. I love people who take a chance, and change careers, and love what they do. That is so me….
Peonies really do make such a gorgeous flower subject and can be interpreted so many ways. I have become addicted to the app “Waterlogue”. Do you know it? You can take any photo image and it turns it into a watercolor painting!!! Pretty amazing and the results are stunning. Anyway, thanks for visiting and hope to see you again!
