Cos Stores
Do you know Cos Stores? That’s “Collection of Style” and it’s a division of H&M. Yes indeed, it’s the upscale, more boutique line of the famous Swedish fashion emporium.
The Beverly Hills store just opened in October and they just (as in November) opened one in New York, in Soho.
I came across their Kensington, London store on my last day in England.
I guess it was love at first sight. The clothes have clean lines and are all solid colors. Nothing fussy or ditsy about them. And, I would say, they are appropriate for any age. Now, I was alone when I went in and not accompanied by my number one guide, guru, shopping pal, fan and advisor aka daughter! I was on my own and forced to give myself my own feedback.
This is what I ended up with: a very simple, all cotton, top. (Remember, this was back in September when we still had weeks of warm weather here.) It came in white and yellow. Well, the daffodil yellow was perfect and I knew the next weekend I had a party back home and this would be just the thing.
And then I found the necklace. You know my love affair with fun jewelry, so it was a no-brainer.
I’ve been eyeing several things on their site for the last few months. Before the New York store opened in November, everything was shipped from the U.K. (but for just $6.95 per shipment!) Now, it is all shipped from here in the U.S., making it all much easier and faster.
So, here are a few items now on sale. I am loving #1…just my style: a long tunic over leggings, what could be better!
And here are some not-on-sale brand new looks:
Nice, no? I like the minimalist look of the website and the images: you can really see the clothes.
As a size guide for you, I am generally a true size 8 and that was perfect in the few things I tried on. But I didn’t try any pants which are always more subject to variation!
I will definitely be buying some things for spring and will try to include some of their clothes in my next “Travel Essentials” guide. Stay tuned, and do check out their line at
COS STORES.
I am a big fan of H&M but I was not aware of this brand. Looked them up and found there are several stores here in Germany, will definitely have to check them out.

Maggie: I know, I just love H&M and don’t think I ever walk out empty handed. Same will be true with this store, I assure you!
Have you been to an H&M home yet (not sure if they have them in the U.S. but you can order online I think) They have beautiful things and great prices. I ran across one when I visited Dresden, just another way to leave H&M broke ;)

No, I haven’t been yet. But daughter says the one in Georgetown is to die for (her words!)
I love Cos, it is one of my favourite stores. I have quite a few of their pieces. I especially like their shirts and sweat tops. Have not tried the trousers.

Can’t believe I hadn’t heard of them, but I will definitely be ordering. Yes, I like so many of their tops, and just right for our age!
Thanks for the intro Libby, will check Cos out. Heading to NYC next week.

Can’t wait to see some pics from the new store! Happy shopping Cindy..
Very nice and simple. I am a “no frills” kind of gal and these clothes are right up my alley. I also love the leggings and long tunic look. For Christmas I received some leggings with tops to match. Very nice. Love the yellow, so bright and cheery!

My favorite kinds of outfits, for sure!
Lovely choices, Libby! :) The yellow top is so nice:)
Hi Libby!
The tunic you picked up is so beautiful as is the necklace. I am sure you will get lots of wear out of it as it seems like the perfect basic. I’ve never been to a COS …. so I looked at your link. The sales items are priced well and as you said, they are workable in just about any wardrobe. Thanks for the heads up!
I hope this new year is starting off with lots of fun and exciting prospects for the future;)
