FIG TREE

Kind of pathetic, isn’t it?

Any talk of figs always, always brings me back to this wonderful hotel

 in St. Remy in Provence called

“Sous les Figuiers” (under the fig trees)

It is truly lovely. I recommend it highly. It’s right in town so you can walk everywhere, and yet it is set back and oh so quiet. But the best part is that the fig trees, which are everywhere, seem to be constantly bearing fruit and you are free to pick whatever you want. 

Just as I was finishing this post today, in came another story about figs from my friend MJ at 

MJ lives near me, well…sort of… so we met up recently for the first time. She is wonderful! She is over in Provence right now and this post all about figs is well worth reading. So go on over!

As to my own fig tree:

check back in another year, and we will see. I’m hoping for a bumper crop!
